Practice Manager

Reports to: Practice Administrator Director, Aligned Providers New Mexico

About the Opportunity

The Practice Manager of Aligned Providers New Mexico (APNM) will oversee daily administrative
processes and assist with the management of APNM’s providers, will serve as the liaison between
APNM and site the Medical Staff Office. This role is accountable for providing direct support to the
Medical Director by acting as the main resource and contact in the daily operations and activities in
the Emergency Department and inpatient departments.

This is a full-time position that will report directly to the Practice Administrator Director of APNM.

Essential Functions

The Practice Administrator position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities, including managing and completing schedules, assisting
    with shift coverage, reinforcing policies and procedures and supervision of Physicians and
    APPs
  • Organize and conduct provider orientation and onboarding processes in correlation with client
    facility site(s)
  • Orchestrate APNM apartment turnover and communicate the comings and goings of providers
    with housekeeping
  • Assist staff with patient transfers, including coordination of care based on patient needs
  • Offer assistance to hospital staff and providers as needed
  • Copy, file, sort, and house documents accordingly
  • Maintain the utmost professionalism in all aspects of communication and
    prioritize customer service
  • Streamline communication and coordination with ancillary departments to support APNM
    provider needs
  • Work with payroll to ensure accurate input of hours and efficient deposit of funds monthly
  • Act as liaison to all third-party vendors
  • Support with recruitment and credentialing processes with operations accordingly as needed
  • Coordinate work schedules to efficiently make appointments and generate virtual meetings.
    This will require attendance to record meeting minutes
  • Monthly data extraction. Collaborate with the leadership team to identify quality initiatives
    and manage quality metrics
  • Prepare provider evaluations. Schedule, prepare and document necessary data for all
    evaluations
  • Monitor provider schedules and keep track of additional time worked
  • Assist with APNM apps and platforms, i.e., When I Work, GroupMe, any applicable current
    platforms used, and future platforms in which may be implemented
  • Promote effective working relationships with ancillary departments and hospital leadership to
    help facilitate meeting department goals and objectives
  • Ability to effectively utilize EMR to review charts for completion, or missing items such as
    physical examinations, H&P’s, provider signatures and co-signatures, etc.
  • Maintain close relationships with site department leadership at our client facility(ies)
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment

This position is will work in normal office and hospital department settings. Additionally, the Practice Manager must be comfortable working in an emergency department environment. Due to the work settings and multifaceted nature of the job, this role may be subject to stressful circumstances at times.

Experience and Education

The Practice Manager position requires individuals to have an Associate’s degree in related field. While not required, a Bachelor’s degree preferred,

  • At least 3 years of related experience in a similar capacity
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Experience in practice administration and personnel management in a similar environment
  • Experience with EMR
  • Knowledge of provider credentialing and enrollment
  • Physician management operations
  • Clerical and administrative experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications; Word, PowerPoint, Excel,
    Outlook, SharePoint
  • Administrative experience
